Any creatively-minded job seekers looking for San Antonio teaching jobs may want to consider a position as a post-secondary art, drama or music teacher.

Post-secondary art, drama and music teachers educate students in art, drama and music by teaching classes in those subjects. Some teachers in this occupation are primarily involved with teaching students, while others teach and conduct research.

The education required in order to become a post-secondary teacher varies depending on the subject being taught and the employing educational institution. Those teaching at four-year colleges and universities are generally required to have a doctoral degree.

Baltimore Education Jobs Helping Students Achieve More

Those with Baltimore education jobs are helping their students to achieve more than ever before.

The Baltimore City Public Schools‘ 2009-2010 Maryland School Assessment found that student achievement is continuing to get better and schools are providing a better foundation for long-term academic growth. All public school students in grades three through eight must take a Maryland School Assessment in reading and math each spring.

“Baltimore City Public Schools has continued to move forward, building on the progress made over the past few years,” Nancy S. Grasmick, state superintendent of schools, said. “The system has set in place policies to improve instruction and strengthen student learning. By maintaining focus on classroom results, those efforts will benefit all of the city’s children.”

Houston Teaching Jobs, Healthcare Jobs Grow 4.3 Percent

More Houston teaching jobs were added during April as the city’s education and health services industry saw the biggest yearly increase in employment.

During April, the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area’s unemployment rate decreased to 8.4 percent after remaining at 8.5 percent for two consecutive months. That decrease keeps the area’s rate more than one percentage point below the national average of 9.9 percent.

The Houston area had a total non-farm employment of 2,507,900 workers during April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is up from 2,505,200 workers during March, but a 1.6 percent decrease from last year.

Las Vegas Teaching Jobs

Those seeking a career in education will find that Las Vegas teaching jobs have a lot to offer.

Throughout much of the nation, the education industry has continued to prosper, despite the economic recession. During December 2009, the country’s educational services sector employed 3.1 million people and had an unemployment rate of 6 percent.

The Las Vegas-Paradise area’s education and health services industry employed 69,100 workers during November 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is down from 69,400 workers during October, but a 2.7 percent increase from November 2008.

Portland Education Jobs

There are many opportunities for those looking for Portland education jobs.

The education industry, along with healthcare, is one of the few throughout the country that has continued to add jobs despite the current economic recession. The education industry in Portland is no different as it has seen a monthly and yearly increase in employment.

The Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton area’s education and health services industry employed 137,100 workers during October, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is up from 134,100 workers during September and a .6 percent increase from last year.

Government Internships Available in North Carolina

The State of North Carolina is looking for eligible students to fulfill available government internships. Click here to learn more about government internships.

Any student attending a college, university, technical institute or community college in North Carolina can apply for an internship. There are about 100 internships available, according to an article by the Citizen-Times. Applicants must be state residents with an overall grade-point average of 2.5 or better who have finished high school and at least one year of college. Some internships require a year of law school.

Various internships are available throughout the state and all pay $8.25 per hour for 40 hours of work each week. Many internships will include seminars, tours and other activities. Applications for the internships will be accepted through Jan. 21, 2009.
