About Tiffany

TiffanyTiffany Baxendell Bridge is an International Geek Pimp. That is, she’s an IT recruiter with a major, multinational, staffing firm. How did she get into the glamorous world of IT staffing?

Her storied career began at Stars & Stripes Omnimedia, a promising Pittsburgh start-up that brought the venerable veterans’ newspaper, The Stars & Stripes (domestic edition) into the modern era with a website, radio program, and several spin-off lifestyle publications. She worked in several capacities there, from circulation to advertising traffic management before becoming a casualty of the dot-com bubble.

Not to be deterred, she honed her IT and PR knowledge at a local social services non-profit before moving to Washington, DC to seek her fortune. She eventually landed at BuildTopia, a leading maker of web-based project management tools for the homebuilding industry. It was there that she began to learn the dark art of sales, as well as earning herself the nickname “Usability Wench” for her contributions to the user interface design. She was eventually recruited from there to her current position, at a firm that will remain nameless until they develop a written employee-blogging policy.

An F-list Internet celebrity for being Tom Bridge’s “Rockstar Techie Wife,” Tiffany is also a contributor to Metroblogging DC and maintains The Ankle Biter as her personal weblog. She serves on the advisory boards of several local degree-granting programs for IT, and is a regular speaker on job search topics for student and community groups.

Tiffany resides in Arlington, VA, where she is gently humored by her husband and tolerated by her cat until the revolution comes.
